I was there
"Although it is deeply rooted, is completely erroneous idea that those who took part effectively in major events or lived at a particular time have a higher understanding to those who came later."
These interesting words Margaret MacMillan writes in "Dangerous Games. Uses and Abuses of History", (ed. Ariel, Bcn, 2010) and entirely consistent with my experience. I experienced first hand some important events of the last century and only much later I could evaluate more objectively and amplitude at the time what I noticed. It is true that nobody knows better what has happened that those who have been there. The tree can not see the forest first, and second, not least, the sense of the facts only entity charged when the consequences have been sufficiently developed.
