Leo in, for various reasons excellent book that I recently discovered, the author John Gray, "Misa Negra" (Polity Press, Bcn , 2008), this thoughtful reflection:
"For the utopian mind, defects in any society are known not symptoms of the defects of human nature , but marks of a universal repression, however, soon will come to an end. The storys is a nightmare from which we awaken, and when we do, we realize that human possibilities are endless . Calling the utopian projects of simple exercises bad policy decision ignores its true nature. It is, rather, products of a particular worldview that, once, the only ancontraba religious sects and revolutionary, but, over time, strongly rooted in Western governments: the belief that political action may cause a change in human behavior " (op. cit. pp.37-38)
mentality utopian, which stands at a more or less distant future, after painful reached epic efforts, a state of happiness or radical improvement of our living conditions, it is common to religion and politics. But many do not realize this relationship and believe that the basic dividing line passes "where" that paradise lies intended: whether it is in "heaven", in another life after death ... is religion, but if heaven is on earth, in this life, then it is political. Utopia
actually grows stronger in some situations of radical change, where everything seems possible. Our era is one of them, and often dressing except in the case of the Islamists, Jews and Christians radical neocon with political habits (paradoxical situation by the way).
